From October 30th to November 6th, 2007, a group of students from Year 4 of the ESO went on an exchange trip to Liverpool, England. They were accompanied by Isabel Marcitllach, the head of the English Department, and Eric Cates, the Fulbright English teaching assistant.
During their week in England, the students stayed at the homes of British students from Deyes High School in Maghull (a town near Liverpool). They attended classes at the high school, explored the city of Liverpool (including the Beatles museum and the Liverpool Football Club museum), and visited other cities in the area (Southport and Chester). It was especially interesting for the students to see how Halloween and Guy Fawkes Day were celebrated in England.
MY EXPERIENCE ON AN EXCHANGE TRIP TO LIVERPOOL
by Alba Concepción Arcones, 4ºA
Last autumn I went on an exchange trip to Liverpool and it was great. I went there with my classmates and two teachers who had to look after us (which was not an easy task).
During our stay in Liverpool we visited some monuments, went to the zoo, to the stadium, etc. We were lucky because the weather was great, which is not usual there.
We could also see how they celebrated Halloween and Guy Fawkes Day and some of us took part in their celebrations.
As you can see, fun was ensured during that week, don't you think so?
